Vinyl Sticker Printing SpecificationsUpdated a year ago
- For the decal, you will need to upload two separate files
- The first will be the artwork file, which must be a PNG image file, 4” x 4”, 300 DPI, CMYK color, transparent background
- The second file is the cutline, this will be a simple magenta line that will indicate where the cut, or edge of the sticker, will be. The cutline layer must be a PNG image with a transparent background
- You can download the PDF template below to create your artwork
- Please export the two separate files (artwork file and cutline file) as PNG images
- Further Details about preparing your artwork:
- Once you’ve downloaded the PDF template, you can open it with Illustrator, Photoshop, or whatever other software you’d like to use
The longest area of your sticker will be 4” so you can position the design however you like in this 4” square. It only needs to touch two of the four sides, but can touch all four if the design calls for it
As a general rule, it’s best to not let any areas be thinner than .5” so that it doesn’t tear
Group your artwork into one layer folder and create a new layer that will just be the magenta cutline
You can position this cutline right on the edge of your artwork, or give it a little bit of a white border
If it’s right up to the edge, you may want to give the artwork a bit of a bleed color so there isn’t a faint white line around it
When your artwork is finished, you will need to export two separate PNG image files with transparent backgrounds
First, hide the cutline, and export your artwork
Next, hide the artwork and only make the cutline visible. Export this, and clearly label it
- Once you’ve downloaded the PDF template, you can open it with Illustrator, Photoshop, or whatever other software you’d like to use
